Gradescope Student Tutorial

Gradescope is the platform used for course assignments, submissions, and grades. The course dashboard shows active assignments, release dates, and due dates.

Getting Started

  1. Sign in to Gradescope using the account linked to your course.
  2. Open your course from the dashboard.
  3. Select the assignment you need to complete and review the instructions, release date, and due date.

Submitting Work

Gradescope supports several assignment types, including homework/problem sets, online assignments, and file uploads.

  • For PDF or handwritten homework, upload your file and mark where each answer appears if prompted.
  • For online assignments, enter responses directly in Gradescope or upload files where requested.
  • If the assignment is timed, click Start Assignment when you are ready to begin.

Before submitting, check that all pages, files, and answers are correct. After submission, Gradescope sends a receipt that confirms the submission time and due date.

After Submission

You can usually resubmit until the deadline unless your instructor has restricted that option. After grades are released, you may review scores and feedback directly in Gradescope.
